What wheel offset changes

Offset is the distance from the wheel centerline to the hub mounting face. Positive offset moves the wheel farther inward. Lower or negative offset generally moves it farther outward. Width and offset must be considered together.

Inner clearance versus outer poke

A wider wheel grows on both sides of its centerline. Changing offset then shifts that wider wheel inboard or outboard. GarageMath calculates both effects at the same time.

This is a geometry estimate, not a fitment guarantee. Tire section width, brake calipers, suspension travel, alignment and bodywork can all become the limiting factor.
