Reading power-to-weight
Lower pounds per horsepower means each horsepower has less vehicle mass to accelerate. Horsepower per ton expresses the same relationship from the opposite direction.
Why the ratio is not a lap-time guarantee
Traction, gearing, aerodynamics, torque curve, transmission behavior and driver inputs all matter. Power-to-weight is best treated as a quick comparison metric, not a full performance simulation.
